Coronavirus update

Some riders have reached out to us regarding Olympic qualification concerns so we just wanted to address it in case you, or any of your teammates have questions. We are aware of the challenge’s riders are facing amidst the cancellation or postponement of Olympic qualifying events for those who have not yet qualified for Tokyo2020. The situation has and will continue to require a lot of flexibility from your National Olympic Committee (NOC), your International Federation (IF) and you as riders.

According to IOC president; Thomas Bach, the IOC is working with the UCI, NOC’s and IF’s to find consistent, credible and fair solutions to replace any missed opportunities that riders may face, create alternatives to lost qualification opportunities and ultimately ensure final selection process for all riders if any necessary adaptations to the qualification system under these unprecedented circumstances.

The TCA will contact the UCI and continue to monitor the UCI’s progress and inform riders with the latest developments. If you have any concerns, or want to speak to us please contact us directly at info@cyclistsalliance.org

Our recommendation is for all riders to also observe and sign up to the athlete365 website and download the athlete365 app, create your athlete profile and enable notifications to get reliable first-hand information. This will allow you to better adapt to the situation in all your preparations leading up to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Please adhere to travel regulations and do not take any unnecessary risks that could compromise both your own and others health.

Riders are very welcome to join the discussion on Slack.
