TCA Accepting Applications for Board Positions

The Cyclists' Alliance is seeking applications to fill the positions of TCA President and TCA Vice-President on the Board. Please see the details below for a full description of the roles and requirements.

TCA President (unpaid non executive role)

The Cyclists’ Alliance is an international non-profit organization, independent labour union that represents the competitive, economic and personal interests of UCI licensed women cyclists who are members of UCI Continental or Women World Tour teams.

TCA is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual, with proven leadership experience, to join its management board as President. Together with the other board members, the role will be responsible for providing strategic direction and implementing a high quality vision for the organisation. The TCA Board is responsible for accountability and evaluation of the strategic plan once implemented, through oversight of TCA staff (in both paid and voluntary roles).

The President will be expected to provide relevant support, advice and external introductions to help create, ,build and meet the organizations's vision, and to be able to clearly articulate this vision and our goals to achieve it when engaging with TCA members and supporters, key stakeholders and the media.

Particular responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall vision, mission and strategy, aligning the team and members on our long-term priorities to progress the sport forwards
  • Responsible for TCA's goals for short and long term to achieve our strategy and work towards achieving our longer term vision
  • Represent the TCA in Media together with Communications staff member
  • Responsible for lobbying major stakeholders in cycling
  • General oversight of cost of operating programs and staff to deliver against it, determining appropriate levels of cost, and whether programs or services should be initiated or discontinued based on TCA's priorities
  • Help raise the profile of TCA and of it's mission amongst key stakeholders and sports fans

Vice-President (unpaid non executive role)

TCA is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual, with proven leadership experience, to join its management board as a TCA Vice-President. Together with the other board members, the role will be responsible for providing strategic direction and implementing a high quality vision for the organisation. The TCA Board is responsible for accountability and evaluation of the strategic plan once implemented, through oversight of TCA staff (in both paid and voluntary roles).

The Vice-President will be expected to provide relevant support to the President, advice and support to TCA's staff and provide external introductions to help progress the organization against its operating plan to achieve our short and long term goals.

Particular responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable for sponsorship relationships to bring revenue into the organization to fund the services and programs provided and continue to expand its reach and support to more members.
  • Supporting President for lobbying major stakeholders in cycling
  • Responsible for leasing with Rider Council, and attending meetings where possible in order to effectively communicate major areas of concern and lobbying to the remainder of the Board
  • Ensuring the organization adheres to legal, governance and financial procedures
  • Supporting president in reviewing cost of current and new programs, determining appropriate prioritization and trade-offs of TCA's offering to achieve the organization's goals
  • Help raise the profile of TCA and of its mission amongst key stakeholders and sports fans

Skills and experience desired:

  • Prior board and/or professional experience preferred
