The TCA General assembly took place online earlier this week. Couple of notable changes have been approved by the participants acting the departure of Roos Hoogeboom from the board and her replacement by Lexi Brown. Special keynote speaker Kate Veronneau, head of women's strategy at ZWIFT, also participated in the general assembly.
It was an emotional general assembly that took place earlier this week with Roos Hoogeboom stepping down from her position in the TCA board and being replaced by long time TCA member Lexi Brown. For Iris Slappendel, TCA president, the work done by Roos Hoogeboom was an important piece of TCA success over the years.
"Roos has been an important piece of the functioning of TCA. She has been with us since day one when we first launched the organisation in 2017. She is leaving the board but she will remain active in our day to day activities with the TCAMP program. I'm glad that we can still benefit from her expertise and experience as a former rider".
Iris Slappendel
With only one potential candidate to join the board, Lexi Brown was successfully elected to take over Hoogeboom's responsabilities. She will bring her expertise and knowledge on women cycling and help define TCA policy for the future. For Iris Slappendel the addition of Lexi Brown is important for the development of TCA
"Replacing Roos is not an easy task. I believe the addition of Lexi will bring all the competences we need in the board. She knows the organisation really well. She was previously involved in the TCA daily activities but had to step down for personal reason. Her vision for the future of women cycling is for sure a great asset for us. Welcome Lexi".
Iris Slappendel
The general assembly was concluded by a Keynote presentation of ZWIFT's head of Women strategy and long time TCA supporter Kate Veronneau. Kate had the opportunity to present ZWIFT's vision on the future of women cycling and also ZWIFT's financial commitment towards women cycling for the next few years with Le Tour de France Femmes avec ZWIFT or Paris Roubaix Femmes avec ZWIFT. This presentation generated a lot of interaction between the participants.
