Dear TCA Members,

As I reflect on my first six months as President of The Cyclists’ Alliance (TCA), I’m proud to be working with a passionate and committed team that is united in making women's professional cycling better for you, the riders.

Since I started this role, we have been asking: what do riders need now, and how can TCA be most effective in driving positive, lasting change?

TCA has come a long way since 2017, from securing minimum salaries and maternity leave protections, to elevating ethical and workplace standards. The return of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift has helped elevate the profile of women’s cycling and attracted new sponsorship and fans.

But with progress comes new challenges, and your needs are changing. That’s why we’re evolving too.

Today, I’m proud to introduce TCA’s refreshed strategy for 2025 and beyond:

The Independent Voice of Women’s Professional Cycling: Empowering Riders, Advancing Equality, Securing Futures.”

This updated direction focuses more sharply on the different needs of WorldTour, ProTeam, and Continental riders. It’s driven by your feedback through our Annual Rider Survey and Rider Council. You’ve told us what’s holding the sport back: safety concerns, financial insecurity (especially at the Continental level), and lack of visibility. We hear you. We are acting. And we will continue to listen.

In fact, the 2025 TCA Annual Rider Survey launches in June, so your voice can continue to guide our work.

Our vision is ambitious yet clear: to make women’s professional cycling an attractive, secure, and sustainable career path. To get there, we are focusing on three key priorities:

  1. Advocacy

We will push for stronger regulations, better race conditions, and safer team environments. By working with media, sponsors, and governing bodies we will ensure your voices and achievements are seen and heard.

  1. Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship

Empowerment starts with education. From salary negotiation to mental health, we are expanding our webinar series, resources, and mentorship programs (TCAMP) to equip you with the tools to thrive, on and off the bike.

  1. Support Services

Whether it’s reviewing an employment contract, negotiating salary, or navigating a difficult situation, our expert legal and ethical support is here to protect you so you can focus on your career with confidence.

TCA stands for fairness, empowerment, and transparency. We are independent, guided by your voice, and strengthened by our global network of partners and advisors. This strategy is a shared commitment to a stronger future for women’s cycling

Let’s keep building it together.

Please reach out to me or anyone from TCA if you have any questions or ideas you want to discuss.

Best regards,

Grace Brown
