The Cyclists’ Alliance is recruiting a part-time Advocacy & Communications Lead to turn riders’ experiences into evidence, action and lasting change across professional women’s cycling.
Professional female cyclists need a strong, independent voice; one that listens to riders, identifies where progress is needed and consistently presses the sport to do better.
TCA is looking for an Advocacy & Communications Lead to build and drive a proactive advocacy agenda. This person will help us move beyond responding to individual concerns and being reactive to issues as they arise and towards a more focused approach: gathering evidence, setting clear priorities and sustaining pressure for change.
About the role
The Advocacy & Communications Lead will work closely with the TCA Board and our Rider Council. They will translate rider priorities and Board strategy into a focused work plan, with clear goals and regular reporting on progress.
The successful candidate will also:
- Listen to riders, strengthen engagement and coordinate the Rider Council.
- Leading and evolving TCA’s annual Rider Survey. The survey helps us understand riders’ experiences, track progress across the sport and identify the issues that should shape our advocacy.
- Represent riders and advocate consistently in discussions with the UCI, WPA, EAPA, national federations and teams.
- Lead TCA’s social channels, content and relationships with journalists and media.
- Mobilise the press, fans and wider cycling community behind the case for change.
- Report clearly on TCA’s advocacy activity, progress and priorities.
Who we are looking for
- You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, alongside a deep understanding of professional women’s cycling.
- You should have experience in advocacy, communications or sports governance, and be able to work independently, make sound decisions and prioritise within your available time.
- Existing relationships with cycling media, the UCI or professional teams would be valuable, as would lived experience of professional cycling or a background in athlete representation.
- Most importantly, you will understand how to turn riders’ experiences into a clear case for change and how to build the support needed to achieve it.
