The Cyclists’ Alliance (TCA) is proud to be partnering with Morgan Sports Law who come on board as our legal services partner.
In our recent Annual Rider survey, The Cyclists’ Alliance members ranked legal services as one of the most valuable services currently offered to rider members. Each year, The Cyclists’ Alliance provides assistance to 80+ riders, ranging from a free contract review, to ethical or legal consultation on a wide range of topics.
Under the partnership, Morgan Sports Law will deliver additional legal support and education to The Cyclists’ Alliance ’s members, including advising on employment and contractual disputes, providing support on disciplinary and ethics matters, and helping to keep The Cyclists’ Alliance ’s members informed of key regulatory developments.
Deena Blacking, Interim Managing Director of The Cyclists’ Alliance, said: “The working conditions for many professional female cyclists have dramatically improved in the last decade, but we still routinely see unfair and unjust treatment of athletes by their employers. In our annual rider survey, year after year, legal support is the most valued service. We are therefore delighted to welcome Morgan Sports Law on board as a legal partner, allowing us to enhance and expand the work we do to support our members.
Tom Seamer, Partner at Morgan Sports Law, said: “Women’s professional cycling is going from strength to strength. Riders need clear information and strong representation so they can focus on their performance. We are looking forward to working with The Cyclists’ Alliance to provide practical education and legal support to its members.”
Nick Williams, Barrister at Morgan Sports Law, said: “The UCI has recently implemented a raft of regulatory changes that impact riders. Through this partnership, we will support TCA and its members with keeping on top of new rules and collaborate with TCA’s existing legal team on both contentious and non-contentious matters. We are looking forward to working alongside TCA to deliver support for its members at this exciting time for women’s cycling.”
