Empowering Riders Through Mentorship: The Cyclists’ Alliance Mentor Programme Celebrates the Class of 2025

December 4th, 2025 – The Cyclists’ Alliance is proud to wrap up another impactful year of  The Cyclists’ Alliance Mentor Programme (TCAMP). This year’s programme brought together 15 athletes from nine countries and across four continents, equipping them with essential skills, increased self-confidence, and a strong sense of community.

Participants began the programme with a detailed needs assessment that shaped their personalised development journey. Throughout the year, they took part in tailored workshops and monthly one-to-one mentoring sessions to prepare them for the demands of professional cycling. Participants gained exclusive access to a wider network of internationally renowned experts and experienced riders.

Impact and Outcomes

Feedback from participants highlights the programme’s strong impact:

  • 77% of participants reported being “very satisfied” with their experience
  • One-to-one mentoring sessions were identified as the most valuable component
  • Workshops ranked as the second most valuable component, praised for their open dialogue and the chance to learn directly from guest speakers.
  • All participants reported gaining new competencies, especially in:
  • Increased self-confidence and self-understanding
  • Stronger goal setting and development planning skills
  • Communication and conflict management skills

The programme’s positive influence extends far beyond its participants. Eight riders contributed to “Giving Back to the Community” initiatives, which included:

  • Delivering hands-on cycling skills training for children and teenagers
  • Promoting cycling participation among adolescent girls
  • Ran outreach activities in schools to inspire young riders

Reflections from closing workshop

The final workshop offered a moment for the group to share reflections, celebrate achievements, and look ahead to their future. The closing session also marked an important point to recognise meaningful progress.

“The closing workshop reminded me that the true value of this programme comes from the commitment and openness of everyone involved, both mentees and mentors. By creating a space where people could speak openly and reflect together, the group built a strong and supportive community. Throughout the programme, it was the combination of the workshops, structured content, personal reflection, and supportive mentorship that helped participants grow and see their next steps with more clarity and confidence.”  – Roos Hoogeboom, Programme Manager.

Liz Walker, TCAMP Mentor, highlighted the following:
“As a mentor, I’ve found that supporting athletes through TCAMP is as rewarding for me as it is for them. We talk about leadership, identity, building confidence, setting and communicating expectations, goal setting, and career planning… all skills that apply on the bike, but also in every stage of life. It’s a reminder that growth is universal and these skills permeate all “versions” of our lives. Seeing the riders we work with connect the dots between their athletic careers and their personal growth is nothing short of inspiring. The bike may be the profession, but the conversations give them tools that extend far beyond racing.”

A Well-Deserved Celebration

The Cyclists’ Alliance congratulates the entire 2025 cohort, and sincerely thanks Strava as a partner of TCAMP, and all guest speakers whose expertise enriched the programme.

A special thanks goes to our dedicated TCAMP mentors. Their commitment and generosity have been essential to supporting each rider’s development.

Special congratulations go to the two riders of the 2025 cohort who have signed WorldTour contracts for next season. This is an inspiring achievement for the entire TCAMP community.

The next edition of the programme begins in January 2026, with more details to follow in the new year.
