Contract Management Platform
Please find our contract management resources, to help with new or existing contracts & provide information about minimum standards the TCA expects to see.
We also provide information on Tax, Insurance, visas and/or work permits. If you have questions on your individual circumstance, please do not hesitate to contacts us at info@cyclistsalliance.org.
84% of riders do not have legal assistance before signing a contract. These resources help you negotiate by yourself, to give power back to the riders. If all our members request these minimum standards, we will improve the rights and conditions for all.
If you need more complex help, the TCA can provide additional commercial or legal assistance.
Please use the drop-down menu to navigate through our resources. Or you can use the links below.
If you cannot locate something or have a request for specific information, please contact us directly: info@cyclistsalliance.org
CONTRACTS
1. Contracts – key clauses, example contracts and negotiation tips
2. You can use the Contract Health Check as a guide to carry out a review of your own contract. Alternatively you can contact us on info@cyclistsalliance.org, with ‘Contract Health Check’ in the subject header. Your contract will then be given a ‘health check’ by a professional agent, for free. If you require additional help after this, you will be entitled to a preferential rate with the relevant agent.
3. Are you searching for a rider agent to represent you? Or do you want more information about rider agents, the benefits and the costs, but don’t know where to start? That’s the reason why we created the ‘Approved Agent Quality Standard’.
TAX HELPDESK
Tax considerations for cyclists provided by TCA Partner; BakerMcKenzie. This interactive guide provides an overview of the different tax regimes, rates and obligations for riders in the UK, Spain, Belgium, France and the Netherlands. The type of tax that professional cyclists will be subject to will typically depend on where they and their team are based and where they are racing. It’s important to get this right to avoid potential tax penalties.
In the interactive PDF, there is an option to “click to contact” which goes direct to Baker McKenzie, who charge corporate rates and we do not currently have a deal with them for discounted pricing. Any tax queries should continue to be directed to the TCA. You can contact us on info@cyclistsalliance.org, with ‘Tax help’ in the subject header.

VISAS
What is a visa?
A visa is an authorisation from a country for a person to stay (‘reside’) legally in that country.
What happens if you do not have the correct visa?
You are illegally residing in that country. In many countries, it is a criminal offence. If you are illegally in a country, you may face the following penalties:
(1) A fine of up to €43,000
(2) Criminal prosecution and imprisonment up to 5 years
(3) Deportation
(4) Future visa denial
(5) A ban on future entry to the country of up to 20 years
If you are not legally resident, you may be unable to access important services like medical care. For example, some cyclists who are not legally resident in Europe have been unable to obtain a Covid-19 vaccine.
Any visa queries should continue to be directed to the TCA. You can contact us on info@cyclistsalliance.org, with ‘Visa help’ in the subject header.
